PUTTING THINGS ON THE SHELF THE SEYMOUR WAY

As part of its programme of continuous development in conjunction with its customers Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI) has introduced its new modular racking system for food, non-food, catering and allied industries.

Track Rack is constructed on-site using lightweight aluminium click-together frames and high-impact, washable, ventilated blue plastic shelves.  These can incorporate a unique ‘Rear Guard’ shelf back stop which reduces waste by preventing stock from falling off the back of the shelf thus reducing stock loss and cost, cleaning time and generally improving hygiene.

Track Rack is hard wearing and modular and is delivered in flat pack form for easy assembly.  It is simple to erect, extend or re-erect without tools, although a plastic mallet is an advantage.   There are two depths and six convenient lengths for assembly in any size of room.  For right-angled runs there are corner fittings. Shelves may be fitted eleven high or at any single height to suit demand.  If mobility is required braked and swivel wheels can be fitted to the bottom of the upright supports.

During tests a single standard Track Rack shelf assembly, 1565mm long by 500mm deep, supported 425kg (957lb) of product proving that the system has sufficient strength to accommodate the majority of goods found in most food storage facilities.
